First let me say that normally I would never let a kitty outside without a leash, but these are having to live outside in a small cattery because there are no foster homes available (including mine.) I let them play in my fenced yard several hours a day or longer on weekends when I can supervise them. Here's some snaps from early this morning.
This gorgeous momma and three kittens are available for adoption.
Their story: This momma cat showed up as a stray at the Safeplace house for women and children in crisis near the end of March. She had lots of love to give and was a great comfort and distraction from the bad things. Shortly thereafter, momma cat gave birth. We believe that she also needed a safe place and knew just where to go. But then freezing weather arrived and momma needed a warmer and drier place. Safeplace does not allow pets inside their facilities due to allergies and other considerations. That's when momma and five kitties came to stay in my kitchen. The lovely lady residing in Safeplace who helped momma during kittenbirth really wanted to make momma and her own, and provide a forever home for them all, but circumstances are not going allow for that, and now they must find other permanent homes. The deserve better than a small cattery in my backyard. All of the cat foster homes in my area are filled to capacity and we do not have any no-kill shelters or sanctuaries with space either.
Kittens are 8 weeks old and female. Mom is young and dear sweet lap kitty.
