Gretel is not one of those girls you get to know quickly.
I think there must have been some scary times in her life before us. Sometimes little muffin cries out terribly when something startles her.
However in the last few days she has made big strides, or should I say pounces, toward happy kittenhood.
Sam is now allowed to give her a certain amount of grooming and I think she's enjoying it. For the first time yesterday I spied Gretel actually, thought cautiously, initiating a play session. And then last night they even slept side by side, which I could hardly believe. See, normally Gretel keeps a large object or some distance between them and a beware-eye focused on Sam.
I think with time she's going to come around. In the meantime I don't think she could have a more patient guide than my Sam.

Gretel is so adorable, she kind of reminds me of Calpurnia the way she looks, only she's still very different.
She does remind me of Calpurnia - SO much. I would say their personalities are similar too. Give Calpi a hug for me!!
